The Bureau of True Vision
Exhibition at Spare Room, (off space, Vancouver, Canada)
2016
The show consisted of a 3D animation on a large monitor installed floating in the middle of the room via a black pole that echoed the pre-existing pipes of the galleries sprinkler system, a set of wall sculptures featuring 3D rendered hands mounted on pink foam, 3 text works displayed as black prints in black frames with black matting hung on a black wall, and a sound piece that consists of acapella voices controlled by midi installed at opposite ends of the gallery which had an almost chimeric effect as the two naturalistic yet robotically stiff voices seemingly created a sort of call and response sound work to each other.
Thank you to Sungpil Yoon for the invitation, and a massive thank you to Brittney Groetelaars for helping produce this early animation piece.
